Wednesday, December 16th, My holiday haven

Just wanted to show you how our house looks at night this season. Chuck did a fabulous job with the outside lights and yesterday, he finished assembling the Christmas tree. Celia tells me that icicle lights are going "out" in fashion, but I don't care.....I think it's gorgeous!!

Saturday, December 5th, The elf is at work

Chuck has been getting into the holiday decorating and today when I got up from my little nap after working last night, he was donning lights on the back fence. Unfortunately, he is having a hard time finding more lights in the stores. We need to get to the inside of the house as I am hosting Bunco on Friday. Why is this season so stressful sometimes?

Saturday, November 21st, Getting ready for multiple holidays!

While I was in the house cooking more for the freezer for the influx of company this next week, Chuck was outside hanging the icicles on the house. This has been a bit of a struggle in past years because we have a gutter guard system, so normal light hooks don't work. Chuck has tried the Velcro system and other plastic hook devices, but they have proven very frustrating. This year, he drilled tiny brass hooks into the soffit and I think he finally got it right. After Thanksgiving, he will do all of the cord configurations and hang the lights on the big pines in the back yard.

Monday, November 9th, Remnants of scary things

The weather this weekend was absolutely glorious with temps in the 70's, blue skies and gentle breezes. Since the house already felt stuffy because the furnace has been on for a month, I opened some windows to let the Indian Summer in. Front and back door open to get movement from North to South and then family room and living room window open for East to West. Well, upon opening the living room window, I looked up and saw this:
That's an entire sheet of cobwebs at the top of the window....icky!!!
I promptly got out my swifter to nab it....it's gray, meaning that it's been there for a looooong time! Guess I need to look up more when I clean.

Monday, October 12th, Procrastinating on a chore

I hate to iron. I don't mind it when I am sewing, but to do shirts, pants, etc....well, let's just say I let it pile up. Today, I decided I needed to catch up. That meant:
6 pairs of my capris
2 skirts
4 of my shirts
4 of Chuck's shirts.
Now, if I could keep it caught up!!
