Friday, November 13th, Wore out my MIL

This was an errand day. I finished a project for my sister to put in the mail and then Vera, my Mother in law and I were off for a full day of running around.
This was the list:
1. Work out
2. Visit the new thrift store two doors down from Curves, which I gotta tell you, was awesome. I found a pair of jeans, a blazer, a Christmas cookie plate, welcome lights, some white elephant gifts, a gift for my MIL, and I spent about $40.00. When I found out it benefits the Tri-county Crisis Pregnancy Center, I was even more enthusiastic.
3. The quilt shop for an item for Vera
4. Home Depot
5. Post Office
6. WalMart in Antioch (because they still have sewing notions, wherein the new one's craft
section, in a word, SUCKS!!)
7. A quick stop at the quilt shop in Lake Villa
8. That meant we didn't get home until 5:30 and then we picked up Chuck and promptly went out for dinner to "That Pasta Place".
9. Upon getting home from dinner, making food for the quilt group gathering here tomorrow, and last minute house straightening and table setting.
Wore her out??? Wore ME out!!!!

Thursday, November 12th, A good cry

We just recently started Netflix. We love it, because even though we live about 2 blocks from Blockbuster, we are lazy and don't really want to drive over there and go through the whole process of walking around with a movie asking the other one if they want to see it. In Netflix, we have a whole queue of movies lined up and when we watch one, we pop it in the mail and get the next one on the list. So far, it has been perfect. We get the next movie in about 2 days.
Tonight, we watched this one and I really loved it. Will Smith is starting to look more and more like a serious actor. I finally have the "Fresh Prince" stigma out of my head for him. This is directed by the same guy that directed him in "The Pursuit of Happyness". So if you loved that one, you will love this also.

Wednesday, November 11th, A day to thank those who served

Every citizen in our country needs to thank a veteran every day, not just today!

Tuesday, November 10th, A little change

Since John has been pastor, he is very active in updating and repairing the building. One big issue we have had is a leaky roof over the sanctuary. He consulted some contractors and found that the bricks on the "rapture tube" were in severe disrepair. The decision was made to take the spire off.
Soon our church will have a whole new look.

Monday, November 9th, Remnants of scary things

The weather this weekend was absolutely glorious with temps in the 70's, blue skies and gentle breezes. Since the house already felt stuffy because the furnace has been on for a month, I opened some windows to let the Indian Summer in. Front and back door open to get movement from North to South and then family room and living room window open for East to West. Well, upon opening the living room window, I looked up and saw this:
That's an entire sheet of cobwebs at the top of the window....icky!!!
I promptly got out my swifter to nab it....it's gray, meaning that it's been there for a looooong time! Guess I need to look up more when I clean.

Sunday, November 8th, Fun at the quilt show.

Vera, Dana, Celia and I went to the Northern Quilt guild's biannual quilt show this afternoon. So much eye candy and they a couple of stations for hands on activities. One of the things they do is make baby quilts for Good Shepherd Hospital. Dana and Vera colored blocks for this project.

Saturday, November 7th, All day crop

My sister-in-law, brother-in-law and mother-in-law came this weekend for a visit. We had an all day crop at church and Dana and I spent the day immersed in paper crafts, stamps and ink. I am working on my project 365 and am terribly behind. This "week of" header was the best of my creativity for the day! I love the two swirls! The black one I cut on my Cricut. I did get quite a bit done today, but am still behind.
