Thursday, March 12, a sad sign of the times..

Libertyville Sewing Center is permanently closing it's doors after 27 years in business. I got an e-mail on Tuesday and went in today to express my condolences and see if there was anything I needed. I am afraid that we are going to see much more of this in the coming months and years.
I purchased my sewing machine there a little over a year ago and I wanted another foot and some bobbins. The selection is very minimal for the feet, but I did buy 20 bobbins, more basting spray, this thread cone holder and a bobbin holder. Everything is 35% off if you use cash or a check. The lady in front of me spent 1100.00, but I only spent 41.00 and felt horribly guilty that I didn't buy more.

Chris, this is just sooo sad to see so many shops closing. We have the same happening here. Just last week 3 scrapbook shops that import and wholesale only, closed down. The economy is just so bad. It is even worse when the shop has been open for so many years and it was someones bread and butter for so many years. take care

I can't believe they closed. I always went there to buy my "inspiration fabric" when starting a new quilt.
