Monday, August 24th, More yard work

Three years ago, when we replanted the beds in the front of the house, we took out a berm that had become terribly overgrown. I love Lilac bushes so much that I didn't want to lose them. Well, they were too big and when moving them to the back they just never really took off. So we made the decision to take them out and replace them with new ones:
Going from left to right, bushes 1, 3 and 4 needed to come out. Bush 2 is fairly new and looks great. My job was to cut the branches down so Chuck could dig out the base.
When I got to bush 4, I got a great surprise:
There is enough new growth at the base to leave it and see if it will take off. This bed needs lots of loving, but I am always up for it. I feel like I have muscle power to do it now!!
