A Christmas Tea

Celia hosted a lovely ladies tea today. I was her supporter and helped her set up, clean up and just overall encourage her. She did such a great job!! There were about 30 ladies there and we just had a wonderful time.
I snapped the food before guests arrived:
Isn't that so pretty and appetizing? I made the little snowman cheese ball, which was so simple to make, but everyone raved about it. This is the sweet table. Lots of laughs, smiles, and yumminess!!!
We also had a cookie exchange with many containers of delectable sweetness. I tried a new cookie that was just wonderful. It is a small sandwich cookie, very delicate and crispy and they go down so easy, but are very dangerous!! They have 1 1/2 pounds of butter in them and almost a whole cup of whipping cream. It may become a new favorite.

Celia and Kenny's tree is so beautiful. I teased her today because there are poinsettias everywhere in their house and her tree is a red and white theme. "Celia, do you like poinsettias, because I really can't tell!!!"
We had an ornament exchange and we played a game for the exchange, similar to a white elephant. Everyone had the same scripture on a piece of paper, but there was a word highlighted on the paper and if you had the highlighted word, it was your turn to either pick a package or steal from someone else that had one you really wanted. Made for squeals of laughter as people opened and stole other's ornaments.
My word was way down at the bottom, "company", and I couldn't wait to steal one of three I had my eye on. In the end, I ended up last because I was greedy and didn't get one of the ones I wanted, but I still had a great time.
These were the three coveted ones, all nativity scenes.
When I got home, I was all inspired to finish our tree with Chuck:

Well, it's not really finished, because the girls still have to put theirs on. Soon...very soon.
By the way, my friend Ashley got a new camera and she was enjoying trying it out today.I hope you have enjoyed my ramblings. Have a wonderful holiday season.
