Friday, May 8th, A trip to Holland

Candice has been in Holland, Michigan for three years now and we have never been able to get there for Tulip Time. This year, she is staying for the summer and lives 4-5 blocks from downtown. Most of the streets in Holland are lined with tulips. So many colors and varieties!!

We had a lousy trip there as our air conditioning is out in the van. It was sunny and 85 degrees. But I finished listening to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" on audio books and so enjoyed it. Beryl met us there also as she is only 2 hours away.
We went to our favorite restaurant there, Johnny Carino's and then headed to Meijer for breakfast food and coffee.
Candice entertained us at dinner time with her best Tyra Banks impression and had us in stitches!!Everything Dutch is celebrated in Holland and in the grocery, we found these traditional Dutch windmill cookies.
