Hi there :) I found your blog through a comment you made on the CK KOTM:Project 365 early March this year.
I myself only found out about this kit just this weekend and was really enthusiastic but then disappointed about the unavailability of the kit heh. I am in Europe so there is not a whole lot of information on stuff like this available and often I run into cool projects way late. Ordering of such stuff is another completely different story as well: shipping&handling can be nutty high, and a lot of cool things aren't even for sale in the few craftstores we have here.
I gather that you were unable to order a kit yourself at first - where you able to get one when they became available again early March or did you decide on just making your own album?? I love the photos of all the weeks you finished already. The cards you use for the "week of" look like the ones from the original KOTM so maybe you were indeed lucky to find your own kit?? :)
I thought of just creating my own album based on this project; all I have to do is find a nice album, lots of cardstock cut in the proper sizes and all, and use my imagination and creativity. However, I wouldn't know where to find the divided page protectors, which is a bit of a bummer. I actually e-mailed CK for information on whether they intend on bringing out this kit again or not. We'll see. In the meanwhile I continue to ponder on how to make my own. As the year is already half gone by I think I'll start July 1rst with a "Project 184":)
Enjoy your work on the rest of the year, and happy crafting. Btw, I love your quilts!! :)
I did make my own kit. I used free downloads from the CK site which were there way back in January. My album is from American Crafts. I sewed the bottom part in half for the day slots. It has been a blast. I need to sit down and work on it some more so I don't get behind.
I am a 50 year old mom of 2, married to my sweet husband since 1982. We are enjoying empty nest status, but love the time we spend with our two grown daughters. I have been quilting for 4 years and am so obsessed. I also love paper crafts, so I spend many hours in my creative space in the basement. I am an 11 year survivor of breast cancer. I work 12 hour night shifts in a community hospital ICU.
