Good bye to 2008, Welcome '09

Since my birthday didn't get properly celebrated, we combined New Year's Eve with a birthday celebration. So much food, three cakes and good friends made a wonderful night.
They picked up a cake for me at Sam's, which basically was for the girls and all people that don't like coconut. We couldn't decide if the images on the cakes were rattles or balloons. Rattles, for how young I feel I should be....or balloons for the celebration of my life...you decide.
We ate and ate and then ate some more, then played games until the big ball dropped, which in recent years is an endurance contest. I usually am so ready to go to bed by 10.
A favorite game in our family has been :
Before this game was officially boxed up, our family played it for years as the dictionary game.
My parents introduced me to this years ago.
While sifting through the box attempting to find blank answer sheets, Catie and I relived many wonderful times with friends and family over the years:
That's from my mom. She was such a fun player and we could usually pick out her answers because they were silly and imaginative and she could hardly keep from giggling. This word brought peals of laughter from our family because my dad's answer to "wallygowdy" was "the greeter at WalMart". We still call the greeter a Wallygowdy. I can't even tell you what the real answer is.
What fun we had....miss her....
