Friday, June 26th, Great visit with great friends

About every 2 years, we have the privilege to see our dear friends who are missionaries in Nairobi, Kenya. Annemarie and I were in nursing school together and coincidentally also camped at the same church camp every summer while growing up. Unfortunately, there were only two girls from her church that went, so they usually were put into our rowdy cabin. We laugh about that now!!!
Candice adores this family and came home just to see them. Had they not been on furlough this summer, Candice wanted to spend the summer with them in Kenya. She still may do this sometime in the future as Annemarie teaches some health classes. Candice could certainly dovetail her social work degree, (emphasis in Women's studies) into what Annemarie does.
We had the most perfect weather tonight and were able to eat outside. Chuck made Country Ribs on the grill and we paired it with baked beans, rolls, salad, potato salad, and a fruit tart for dessert.
A perfect evening with perfect friends. Unfortunately, their oldest son wasn't here as he is working in Columbia, South Carolina this summer. That didn't dampen our catching up conversation in the least!!
