In this location, I have never had any luck with a garden and I have really tried. The dirt is full of clay and has to be amended. I have never had much patience with that because growing up, we just stuck the stuff in the ground and we had a plentiful harvest.
This year, I may finally have some success. I added 3-4 bags of dirt to a small space to the south of the house which gets some direct morning sun. My friend Lynne gave me some tomato plants that she had grown from seeds. I didn't get them in until mid June, and was skeptical.
I am seeing quite a bit of fruit and can't wait for some tomatoes right off of the vine!!!
