Thursday, August 13th, Doctors who have been there...

Since moving to Lake County, I have seen Dr. Adriana Spellman as my Gyne. She cried with me when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, treated me for endometriosis and performed surgery in 2003.
Nothing, I mean, nothing prepared me when I found out she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. I saw her when she was seeing a patient in the ICU shortly after she finished chemo and we talked about her experience. She has been an amazing tower of strength through the whole ordeal and continued to work full-time through the whole process. Breast cancer is very prevalent today and they say that the older you get, the higher the chances are of being diagnosed. However, at the same time she was going through treatment, so was her partner, Dr. Eileen Morrison. What are the chances??

Last weekend, they formed a team of 10 and walked the 60 mile Avon Breast Cancer walk. They raised over $30,000 for breast cancer treatment and research.
I'm so proud to call her my doctor and friend.
