Wednesday, July 29th, Family reunion in Shipshewana

I was very privileged to be canceled for the past two nights for work, which worked out so well because I am up to my neck in projects and we left this morning for our annual family reunion. Thankfully, it is only about a 3-4 hour drive and we had no traffic problems at all!!!
We stayed in the Farmstead Inn right across from the flea market, which is only open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Beryl drove with dad, so we met up before it closed at 5.
This makes up for the fact that she took a picture once of a shirt that said, "My sister's the bitchy one" or some other slam like that!!!

Talk about culture shock, this was is different for us, but really was so fun to watch!!

Behind the auction barn, there was a parking lot for horses and buggies.
After meeting up with the rest of the family, we went out for supper at The Blue Gate and Chuck fell in love with their Blackberry pie.
The weather was perfect all day and we had a great time with family with constant chatter and laughter. I think I have learned that Amish food isn't really on my diet, so I am not even going to try for the next three days.
