Sunday, August 9th, Bikin' with the boys and feel like I was hit by a truck!!

Today was our monthly family bike ride. There hasn't been much interest this summer, so it is usually us and the Stratman's, which is ok with me. Since Celia is in Portland, I was the lone gal for this one, and Tim was able to go.We took the Des Plaines River Trail north from Independence Grove, which is so lovely. They have made the trail go under several busy roads.
Our goal was to do 20 miles round trip, but at about mile 8.5, I hit a bit of soft gravel and wiped out. I am banged up and sore, but nothing broken.

Chuck was so encouraging for me the whole time and even though I was bleeding, sore and shaky, I rode 16.9 miles, which is basically 17, but I need to round up to 20, right??? I even rode all of the hills, which prior to my Curves workout, I would have never been able to do. Celia would have been so proud!!

Chuck said I am not eligible for the Black Helmet award as I didn't have any stitches and no broken bones. But thank God for that!!!
