Friday, July 31st, Day three at family reunion in Shipshewana

More shopping today!! Back to Lollie's, which is quilter's heaven. Probably the most beautiful shop I have ever been in. They have a sale room downstairs also, where I found some gorgeous Christmas fabrics and a back for a quilt. Right before lunch, we showed Alice the upstairs and met this lovely lady:
She asked us where we were from and she told us there is a great shop in Sandwich, Dekalb, Illinois area. My sister said, "I know Tammy Tadd designs is there." and lo and behold--THAT IS TAMMY TADD!!! What a genuinely nice person. We sort of embarrassed ourselves and did a little bow in front of her. We chatted for quite some time with her and her mom.
Then later in the day, when we were out for dinner (where Tammy just also happened to be eating), we were in a shop and there were some of her patterns:
We met dad, Chuck and my cousin Fred at a cute little cafe downtown, "Garden Gate Cafe", and then looked around some more.
Then we went with the other Alice to the bulk food store. This was really fun and I bought a couple of items. There was so much more I could have purchased, but I don't really need every grain available. Cheap, cheap stuff!!
More adorable Amish boys.
These folks were dressed in the colors of traditional Amish quilts.
We went out for dinner at the Essenhaus:More rich Amish food and I indulged in Sweet Potato Fries.
Dan and Nancy are celebrating their 50th Anniversary the end of the month, so we had an early party for them after dinner.
Then we headed back for a gospel sing:
It seems like everyone heads to town on a Friday night:
These little girls with their pony were so cute!!
Tonight we decided as a family to come back here again next year because it has been such a great experience.
